Go Girl Event

Attention:  Services, Organizations, Schools, Community Agencies Etc.
An Opportunity to Invest In Youth Today!!

On Saturday, November 19th, the CRCA  hosted the Annual Go Girl event at the Chestermere Recreation Centre. This event is an energy packed day designed to introduce teenage girls to healthy active lifestyles.

An important component of the Go Girl is the RESOURCE Fair held from 12:00 – 1:30 and we are looking for a variety of groups to participate.   Over 60 girls will have the opportunity to access YOUR information and gain insight to what your group provides.  This is a GREAT opportunity to connect with girls ages 11-17 yrs. We encourage interactive and engaging tables - with giveaways where possible!

If you would like to reserve a table – please fill out the Information Form and return asap – info provided on the form. .  Set up for the resource fair commences at 10:00 (no later than 11:45 please) and lunch will be provided @ noon for all presenters.

Thank you for your consideration towards enhancing the HEALTH of our  youth: socially, emotionally, mentally, physically & spiritually!

What is Go Girl

Go Girl is a program designed to support less active teen girls, ages 11-17, to pursue

an active living lifestyle. The project revolves around a one-day event whereby teen girls

are invited to "see and try" a variety of physical activity pursuits and to access resources on

these and other pysical activity options. Un addition, the participants will attend information

sessions and will be provided with nutrition and wellness resources.

What are the expected outcomes?

As a result of attending the workshop, the teens will have:

  • Experienced a range of physical activities including outdoor pursuits, individual and team sports,
  • dance, and activities such as Pilates, power yoga, hip hop, and ultimate Frisbee.
  • Received information on where to further pursue activities of choice in their communities.
  • Received information dealing with nutrition and wellness issues.
  • Offered an opportunity to express physical activity.
  • Had a fun and enjoyable experience, met other teens, and gained new friendships.

                     Thank you for your support
